A few years ago, specifically in March 2017, I started 3D printing. Back then, I ordered a budget-friendly TEVO Tarantula I3 from China. It was a good kit, as most of the cables were already cut to length and equipped with connectors. With numerous modifications, it served me well. A few years later, I added a Creality CR-20 Pro to my collection. Since the summer of 2023, I proudly own a Bambulab X1 Carbon with AMS.

  • Silica Gel
To prevent moisture issues with PLA, PETG, and other materials, they should always be stored with silica gel. Regenerable silica gel beads are ideal; 50g is recommended for the AMS and 10g for individual filament spools.

  • Vacuum Bags
To avoid constantly drying filament, it’s advisable to store open spools in vacuum bags. Add a silica gel pouch, and the filament will be well-protected. Nevertheless, it’s recommended to dry materials like PETG and TPU before printing.
